Installation

March 29th, 2004 9:08 pm - Doc | [ Bottom ]

Installation:

By screwing the fan into the chassis either on the front of the chassis, the rear, top, or on the side panel. If the case contains a screw less design for the case fan, just clip it on. The case fan can also be attached to a heatsink that is connected to a CPU socket. Smart Case Fan II has three functions; Full Speed, Temperature control, and manual speed control. To make the fan spin at full speed leave the jumper in the original position and make sure the speed control device is not connected. To connect it with a temperature control function, remove the jumper and plug it in the temperature detector into where the jumper was and then secure the sensor with a thermal tape included on the underside of the CPU heatsink. (For P4 &K8 do not put the sensor on the CPU). The third function is manual which requires to attach the speed control connector to the fan.

When Smart Case Fan II was placed into the Raidmax Scorpio case, the case temperature during idle operations lowered by 1 degree Celsius and during load it lowered three degrees. The CPU temperature lowered significantly during Idle and Work times. The difference is 2.5-3 degrees.

Smart Case Fan II:

Smart Case Fan II cools a case and/or CPU very efficiently. However, the fans produce a great deal of noise once it spins above 3000 RPM and may become annoying to some users. With the temperature control the fan is automatically adjusted, therefore it spins quickly only when it is required to do so. For manual control, the fan can be slowed down and the noise volume can be reduced by turning the knob on the manual control. The fan has an attractive color, orange. It has the name Thermaltake on the back and front of the fan. In addition, on the side it shows the arrows of which way the fan spins and the direction it blows air. The arrows prevent users from placing the fan backwards. The fan is also capable of being purchased in three following sizes: 80mm, 90mm and 120mm.
