There seems to be two main ways companies are engineering their new heatsinks, up or out. Now, one of the big problems with these massive heatsinks is that they have compatibility problems with motherboards and cases. Today we'll be looking at the Coolermaster Hyper 6+ which was created on the concept of 'up.'
For 4x4 to really take off it will need some killer multi-thread applications (games), otherwise I don't see many enthusiasts getting all wobbly legged and ordering what will be a small fortune's worth of AMD silicon from their favorite e-tailers. It is inevitable that true multi-threaded next-gen games will eventually turn up, and when they do 4x4 will be what every enthusiast will want for Christmas, what is not clear is if it'll be Christmas 2006 or 2007...
When we reviewed Logitechs MX610 earlier this month, we didnt encounter many anomalies that would prevent us from recommending the mouse. In fact, the MX610 performed exceptionally well, and hosted new features that aren't available on any other mouse in the market, clearly making it a latest contender in the laser mice series.

Eight new heatsinks are compared to 21 other air cooling solutions from different manufactures. We have some promising entries from Spire, Aerocool, Scythe, Thermaltake and Tuniq for you today.
OCZ has pulled it off again, offering a kit that performs as well as one of their pricier kits and featuring the new XTC heatspreaders. If you are looking for memory, look no further than OCZ...
If there's one truth about heatsinks, it's that you can never tell a good one just by looking at it. The Spire DiamondCool II SP741B3 is one of those heatsinks that's just hard to peg at first glance. It's a hefty AMD Athlon64 K8 heatsink made of copper for sure, and copper means it has to be good right? The 90x90x25mm fan is UV-light reactive with a seven-bladed impeller that rotates at 2400RPM, producing in the region of 41CFM. It has four copper heatpipes are equally spaced and slightly inset into the thick copper base. That's a lot of copper...
'I must say another fine product from SilverStone. The MS02 2.5" HDD Enclosure is constructed from a solid piece of aluminum and acts just like a giant heat sink and a sound dampener. I couldn't even hear the HDD running. The included case will keep from scratching the enclosure when it's being transported. The included software (once set up properly) and the one button push backup works flawlessly. The people at SilverStone did their homework on this one, and I feel they came up with a great package.'
"We have a new, quick review up on an outstanding thermal transfer paste from Cooler
Master named NanoFusion. This stuff managed to perform better than Arctic Silver."

"The OCZ Rally drive is not a radical new design, it does not look significantly different than any other USB 2.0 drive on the market, but then you plug it in and begin to use it. This thing smokes! The transfer times shown in the charts are what this drive is all about. If you want the fastest, sleekest, and most extreme drive currently on the market, this is the one to get."

Today Beyond3D are taking a look at NVIDIA’s Pre Christmas high end booster with the GeForce 6800 GTX 512MB. While the GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB name gives away part of the basis for the product update, it certainly obscures the rest. Here we take a look at this new 7800 GTX model to see how it differs from previous GTX's and how much performance it gains over them.
"The most notable difference with the new 512MB board is obviously the cooling solution. The fact that NVIDIA used a single height cooler on the original GTX was an indication that there may still be more performance in the core, had it been cooled more aggressively, and that's the case with the new 512MB board, moving to a double height cooler solution. The cooling relies on a large fan in the centre of the board sucking air up and pushing it either side so that its partially vented out the back of the case and partially, internally, towards the front."
Overclockers New Zealand has posted a review on Albatron K8SLI nForce4 SLI Motherboard.
Here is the quote:
"The Albatron K8SLI exhibits an extraordinary level of overclocking potential, reaching 332MHz "FSB". (Note overclocking is NOT guaranteed and may vary from sample to sample.) Based on our sample, Albatron K8SLI entered the same realm as the famous DFI LanParty series!! However, the board is lacking a bit in terms of raw performance, as it is slower than Gigabyte's K8NXP-SLI."
